Forget-Me-Notts Lancashire
Hello all! Emma here :)
A few weeks ago, I went on a lovely trip up to Lytham- St. Annes to visit and go on referrals with our Forget-Me-Notts Lancashire hub. The team, which consists of volunteers from Hope Church Lytham, go out once a month on referrals. The hub was set up during summer of 2020 and replicates Forget-Me-Notts: working alongside social workers to build and install beds, storage units, and other essential household items into family’s homes. John, Jess, and Steve are all a part of FMN Lancashire and are absolute rockstars. I went out with Jess and Steve and together we were able to deliver and build a whopping 7 beds (plus bedding, blankets, cubbies, and books) and 4 sets of drawers to 4 families!
The referrals went so well and we even received some awesome feedback from one of the social workers-
“I just want to thank you personally for the service Forget Me Notts provided today for a family I am supporting.
The service today was professional, friendly and efficient.
I left your team to assemble beds for the family and have just returned to see the finished products. The mother was overwhelmed with gratitude for the items and the service. She was slightly tearful but incredibly happy.
The finishing touches you provided were incredible, books, teddies bedding and throws for the children's comfort and pleasure.
I was quite overwhelmed myself when I saw the finished room, having not used your charity before but heard very positive feedback from colleagues in Social Care.
Thank you so much for your generosity and professionalism.
An amazing service!”
It was such a pleasure to be able to service another area of the UK and help out more families. Was a fab time and I’m so grateful to have had the chance to go on referrals somewhere new. Thank you so much to everyone who volunteers to make Forget-Me-Notts Lancashire possible and everyone who donates and supports us. We couldn’t help put a stop to bed poverty without you!
Much Love, Em
