An Easter to remember for many... all thanks to you!
We gifted 3017 Easter eggs to social services to remind our local vulnerable children that they are not forgotten this Easter. We are pleased to have received such overwhelmingly positive feedback and we would love to share these moments with you.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our 2023 Easter egg appeal. The request for Easter eggs has never been so high and we are thrilled to have been so close to our target goal of approximately 3500 Easter eggs! Although we did not reach our final goal, we are overjoyed to have accomplished the 3000 Easter egg mark as we have never met this number during previous years.
Social workers and care groups have reached out expressing their thanks and gratitude; however, it is important to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the support of our community! If you would like to read more about our Easter blogs, please click onto the following link where we give thanks to each corporate business who collected Easter eggs on our behalf, the procedure of preparing the Easter eggs, volunteers who helped along the way, and more!
We would love to share with you the feedback we have received so far! We hope you enjoy the read and hope you had a lovely Easter this year!

“The feedback has been really positive, and the Easter eggs are wonderful! Families have been taken aback when receiving them, saying how kind it was to be given them.” - social worker
Cotmanhay Community Network
“All of the Easter eggs have now been distributed - thank you so much! They were given to families who visited the center for advice, food parcels for the community pantry, or families that we are in regular contact with that we know need support. You all do a wonderful job!” - social worker

“We have been at Mellor’s Lodge for nearly over 2 years and it is lovely to get an Easter egg from the team. We would like to say thank you.” - family response
“I moved to Mellor’s Lodge over 2 years ago and felt so lonely, depressed, and isolated. Since last year, Jan and Laura started activities and sessions which we as a family love to attend. The couple of hours spent allow us to come together as a family for Easter! My children’s faces light up with the Easter eggs given every year which truly, from the bottom of my heart, makes a difference as we feel like we have not been forgotten. Jan and Laura get all the families and children together and spread lots of positivity, smiles, and laughter through the sessions or activities arranged which makes us feel like one big family. It helps me forget I have problems for a small period of time and puts my mental health in a good place.” - family response
“Thank you so much to Forget-Me-Notts, Jan, and Laura! Every year, Easter or Christmas, you have made a difference by bringing lots of joy, smiles, and laughter into our lives! Receiving these lovely donations every Easter and Christmas is so special to us. We have no family, and we are going through a financial crisis, so I cannot afford these luxuries to my family. So, thank you and God bless you.” - family response
