Tollerton Primary
Cyrilyn Moore, the director of Operation Orphan, came into our school in Tollerton in Nottingham a few months ago.
We were all extremely inspired about the work that the charity did. The pictures she showed us and the stories she told us made us realise how lucky we are. The whole school was involved with collecting coats and warm clothes for the charity but in class 6 we decided to also raise some money.
I (Hannah) did a Sponsored 200 length swim and raised £125 which I am really proud of. Harry made a really good game and during playtimes all the children in the school had a go on it. This raised an amazing £63. Christopher, Collette, Molly, Ethan, Martyn and Aleena raised £110 by making delicious cakes and biscuits which they sold in a Bake Sale at the end of school.
The grand total was £298. We were really excited about this and Cyrilyn has told us that with this money Operation Orphan can send 300 of the winter kits to the children in Eastern Europe. We hope we have made a lot of children warm this year. We will all remember this for the rest of our lives.
