Bursting at the Seams!
Not just full but BURSTING AT THE SEAMS full of lovely warm clothing, coats, shoes, boots and blankets picked up from all over the country!
Brad went to Kent at the beginning of the month and collected 92 blankets, kindly donated by Kent Police. Primary schools have really got behind the initiative. It would be fantastic to get MORE HIGH SCHOOLS on board as so many of the children we will be helping are in their teens. Arnold Hill Academy and Bluecoat are high schools in Nottinghamshire and are collecting for us for the first time – this is great news!
As well as schools we have collected from several companies; More Coffee, Blue Max Banner, Becnicks Wonder Emporium, Danbro, Melin Homes due to individuals who have proactively got in touch with a desire to help. We are really grateful for these guys for their amazing efforts!
I obviously can’t write a post like this without highlighting the wonderful army of ladies who knit to KEEP A CHILD WARM! Thank you to the Loving Hands ladies and everyone else who knits, creating wonderful items like blankets, scarves, mittens and hats for us to distribute along with the donated coats.
Now I am getting excited for the Global Expedition teams who will be distributing these in October – Please get in touch for details (globalexpeditions@operation-orphan.org or call on 08432 163838) if you would like to be part of these trips.
