A Salon of Hope
I had the privilege of visiting Peter’s hair salon whilst visiting Zimbabwe last week. Peter, Daniel and Nomsa were orphaned 12 years ago. Nancy Chulu, our amazing project coordinator for Children of Hope, found this child-headed family in the high density suburb of Sakubva. She has nurtured and watched over these precious children ever since.
Years before Operation Orphan incorporated, Cyrilyn and I began contributing to the school fees for orphans living in my home town, Mutare. Peter, Daniel and Nomsa were among the first children we had the privilege of helping. It was here, with these children, that Operation Orphan began making a difference. I was truly overwhelmed and humbled when I saw what Peter has done with the opportunity he had. He now runs his own salon, employs 4 staff, rents a house in a low density suburb and is even paying school fees for 2 children recently orphaned in his extended family.
Keep a Child Learning works. With the right care structure, like Nancy, and long term financial support, lives can be changed for good. The ripple effect is significant, impacting both the community and future generations. Please consider joining the Operation Orphan family to help us repeat this story. Keep a Child Learning works and we would love to extend this opportunity to others around the world.
