It's a Pack!
Alongside the current 6th form students and staff we had a strong team of volunteers from the local area and also those who travelled much further to kindly help throughout packing week.
We were absolutely delighted to see some familiar faces return to help us after they have left Chilwell School and gone off to University and the working world. Armed with the knowledge of what a hard job packing week is, they chose to give up their free time to help and we were humbled and truly grateful for their commitment to the Keep a Child Warm project. Ajay even encouraged some of his Rolls Royce work colleagues to come along - inspirational!
Throughout the week, the whole team were fuelled with determination and ice lollies, and for 6 years running accomplished the task in hand. Around 800 boxes were packed full of coats and winter woollies destined for children in Moldova, Hungary and Romania. Our team is going out to Moldova in September to personally distribute the warm clothing and we look forward to sharing their stories and photos.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Karen Fyles and Chilwell School 6th form for hosting 'Packing Week' again and encouraging the students to get involved. Thank you also to everyone involved right from donating warm coats, to getting them sorted and packed, your time and generosity is hugely appreciated. The Keep a Child Warm project has grown each year and our dedicated team of volunteers has played a key role in making this happen - we definitely couldn't do this without the help of the whole team.
THANK YOU!
