Keeping 10,000 Children Warm!
As preparations are underway for KACW20, I am reflecting on what the project has achieved since it started in 2011.
At the end of 2019 I calculated that over the years, we have clothed 10,000 children living in Moldova, Hungary and Ukraine. These are children we know by name and have had the privilege of giving a winter coat, jumper, hat, scarf and gloves to each one.
In addition to this number, we have sent truckloads of winter clothing to other children in Syria, Sierra Leone, Congo and communities in eastern and central Europe.
The capacity at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham is 10,000 which has really helped us to appreciate the scale at which we are working. We couldn’t do this without our amazing supporters and volunteers who all play their part from donating to sorting to packing to distributing and everything in between! HUGE thanks to you all!
