Foraging for Fundraising - Jam with a Plan!
Since this moment I have spent time picking LOCAL CHILWELL fruit (only from public places might I add) with a view to making some jam to sell at our local, newly open cafe, Fusion.
The beautiful loom bands were donated by some youngsters which meant we could create something a little different and eye-catching – a perfect finishing touch.
Yesterday we took the jam, along with some lovely hand made tea-cosies to Fusion. each item they sell means that the charity gets a donation, raising funds as well as raising awareness of the great work supporting orphans, going on around the world.
Creating this jam from fruit that would otherwise have gone to waste has provided the charity with a unique opportunity to profile what we do in Nottingham’s Market Square on Saturday at the Feeding the 5000 event. Look out for us if you happen to be shopping in the rain 🙂 We will be there!
