NCS Fundraising

On Wednesday, team Wolf Pack hosted a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at St Nicholas Church in Nottingham.

The team’s attention to detail when it came down to decorating their venue for their Alice in Wonderland themed event was amazing. The delicious cakes, sandwiches and drinks which they served also helped to create a wonderful wonderland inspired event. Through donations by those attending the event and the tombola held at the event, Team Wolf Pack’s fundraising efforts reached over £200!  As well as fundraising for Operation Orphan, some members of team Wolf Pack helped with sorting boxes of clothing to send to Hungary as part of the charity’s Keep a Child Warm initiative while others distributed Operation Orphan newsletters to local businesses.

Thursday, team Operation Love a Child put on a family fun day in Hyson Green, Nottingham. Despite the wet weather the event continued and was a great success. From face painting and a bouncy castle to a tombola and a cake sale there was plenty to be enjoyed by all. The team also collected money by sticking coins on an outline of the Operation Orphan logo and organised a charity car wash. They all worked together brilliantly and raised over £420 to help Operation Orphan’s partners in Sierra Leone to fund the building of homes for children orphaned by Ebola.

Finally, last Friday afternoon team Sting organised a Pirates and Princesses fundraising event in Bilborough, Nottingham. The families who attended the event looked to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves thanks to the party games for the children, the refreshments and the raffle. Alongside this, one team member created some beautiful henna designs during the afternoon to help raise money for the charity. The room was suitably decorated to match the party-style event and Team Sting’s fundraising efforts totalled over £123.00! Team Sting also distributed Operation Orphan flyers to help raise awareness of the charity.
