During a conversation Brad was having with the founder of TEXTEK, it became clear that an opportunity to generate cash could be realised by offering a collection service for old mattresses, sofas and bed bases.

Our neighbours, Ewemove agreed to allow us to use their back yard to temporarily store items, and this vital ingredient meant that collections could start.

Most clients that have used the service said that they chose us because we clearly demonstrated that the items were not going to landfill and that the fact that it also helping children was an added bonus. Linking the green agenda with the needs of children is a powerful link and our strap line - Helping You - Helping the Environment - Helping Children, says it all.

Every volunteer that offers their help means there is a direct cash benefit to the charity because of their donated time. We believe that this initiative will become a permanent fixture in the life of Operation Orphan.
