Knitting News

We are so grateful to have received warm, strong, and beautiful handmade items from crafters all over the country over the years.

Here are just a few of the beautiful blankets we have received in recent months!

Following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, we are so happy to say that we are now able to accept donations of knitted items by drop-off at our office, as well as by post. We’re looking forward to seeing you all again in person! Please give us a call book in a drop-off appointment at the office on 0115 896 9942 - we’re still not back to staffing the office full-time, so we want to make sure there is someone there to greet you and receive your donations safely!

The longer-term impact of Covid-19 and Brexit have meant that we have had to adapt the way we deliver some of our projects. Because of this, we have been able to build up a good stock of knitted hats, gloves, and scarves to fulfill our need for the foreseeable future.

This means that currently, we are only asking for donations of large (6ft by 4ft), knitted or crocheted blankets.

If you are interested in making a blanket for us, we’d love to hear from you! Every donation of a warm, strong blanket is given directly to a vulnerable child to help keep them warm and safe. Thank you so much for your continued support.
